A new community hub offering sensory, activity and meeting spaces is preparing to open in Coventry.

The Nest Coventry will formally open its premises at Beechwood House, Falkland Close, on Friday, 9 October. The opening event is for invited professionals and supporters rather than the general public.

The community interest company was founded by Coventry mothers Lindsay Foskett and Jade McCloskey after what they described as months of planning, building, painting and fundraising.

Its new premises include a sensory gym, quieter spaces and rooms intended for meetings, activities and community use.

New provision for primary-age children

The opening will also introduce The Nest Explorers, a new alternative provision for children of primary-school age.

Alternative provision supports children who need education outside a mainstream school setting or who benefit from a different learning environment. The Nest Coventry has described its aim as creating safer spaces where children can learn, grow, connect and belong.

The organisation said the opening marked an important stage after months of work and thanked supporters who had encouraged the project and helped it reach this point.

What started as a dream between two mums has become something very real.

The professional opening will run from 1pm until 3pm and is expected to include the Lord Mayor of Coventry. Attendance is by confirmed invitation only.
