An independent Coventry publisher is developing children’s books and classroom materials designed with different learning and communication needs in mind.
Hewston Higgins Books & Learning, founded by Jonathan Hewston, says its growing collection includes illustrated stories, SEND-inclusive materials and resources linked to school subjects.
The business’s developing series include Cal’s emotional wellbeing adventures, First Steps and History Hoppers. Its planned materials span early years, literacy, maths, science, history, geography and creative arts.
Alongside books, the publisher is developing printable activities, visual resources, teacher guides and companion materials. A school membership programme is intended to provide access to a growing digital library.
The company says it is interested in partnerships with schools, SEND specialists and organisations supporting children and families.
This business update is based on the publisher’s 4 November announcement. Its descriptions of inclusivity and intended uses are the company’s own; this report does not assess the resources’ educational effectiveness.
